Shenyang, called Fengtian and Shengjing in ancient times, is the capital of Liaoning Province, a sub-provincial city, a mega city and the core city of Shenyang metropolitan area, and an important central city and advanced equipment manufacturing base in Northeast China approved by the State Council.

Shenyang is located in the northeast of China, in the middle of Liaoning, in the center of Northeast Asia Economic Circle and Bohai Economic Circle. It is the geographical center of Northeast Asia, the headquarters of the theater in northern China, the Shenyang Joint Logistics Support Center, the comprehensive transportation hub leading to kanto region in the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regions, and an important node extending from the belt and road initiative to Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia.

Shenyang is a national historical and cultural city, the birthplace of Qing Dynasty, and is known as “the birthplace once, the capital of two generations of emperors”. In 1625, Nuerhachi, the emperor of the Qing Dynasty, moved its capital here, and Huang Taiji built the capital and established the Qing Dynasty of China here. This was a turning point in Shenyang’s history, which changed from a military garrison to a Shengjing imperial city, one of the two capitals in the Qing Dynasty, and began to become the central city of Northeast China.
